Tony Layoun portrait

Trained in Beirut. Heard everywhere.

Tony Layoun discovered music at four years old and, at thirteen, began studying violin at the National Conservatory of Lebanon. Still a teenager, he was already performing on television across Lebanon and other Arab countries. Over the years he built a sound of his own: Lebanese melody carried by electric guitar, bass and drums alongside oud and darbuka, oriental and western instrumentation sharing the same stage.

A journey that started young

Long before international stages, Tony was already the young violinist from Beirut appearing on Lebanese television. That same drive carried him through years of recording and touring, several albums released in Lebanon, to the artist leading Grupo 1001 Noites today.

Grupo 1001 Noites

Behind Tony is a full live band built for real events, not backing tracks: guitar, bass, drums, oud and percussion playing Lebanese classics, dabke and crowd-moving fusion sets for guests from every background. It is the band trusted for some of the biggest Arab celebrations in Brazil, now taking that same energy to stages worldwide.
